DESCRIPTION

Despite the fact that Thelma and Louise did not end up in an psychiatric asylum from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, one cannot help but feel that is exactly what happened in this comedy drama by Paolo Virzì. A million dollars for whoever outtalks Beatrice, a noisy manipulator and sickening liar. Another million dollars for whoever forces a confession out of  Donatelle, an introvert women with a frail body, hiding murky secrets from her past. Both protagonists end up in the same “asylum for women with mental issues.” Despite their antagonistic characters, they form a bond of friendship. One day, they decide to escape from the institution in order to search for happiness and love in a free world of “sane” people.
