DESCRIPTION
One of the most shocking films by Michael Haneke. Benny is a teenager who comes from a well-off family, and greatly enjoys recording the reality around him on VHS tapes. He lives in a dark room, where his videos pile up, and gradually loses contact with the outside world. When a new acquaintance comes to visit, things take a sudden turn. Haneke observes how morality and empathy shape up and fade in a world dominated by images, including those of violence. Arno Frisch, who plays Benny, several years later starred in Funny Games by the same director.
