DESCRIPTION
Based on the opera Bluebeard’s Castle by Béli Bartóka; a somber interpretation of the folk tale about a young woman discovering an unfamiliar, forbidden world belonging to men. Solnicki tackles the problem in a less obvious way, sketching portraits of several young women coming of age. They confront the social hierarchy, which restrains their freedom but offers them certain privileges, deceiving them with an ephemeral chance of self-fulfillment.
