DESCRIPTION
Bobbi Jene Smith is an American dancer. She developed her unique talent collaborating with the creator of the Gaga movement technique, Ohad Naharin. Bobbi decides to abandon the comfortable life with her master and to take a risk fighting for creative independence. Elvira Lind’s documentary presents this stage in the life of the eponymous character, when her distinctive image and strong personality are being formed. Bobbi starts to cross safe boundaries and break stereotypes concerning the perception of the body and dance; she considers dilemmas and estimates the risk. The film is a testimony of women’s fight for creative freedom in a men-dominated world of dance. It is a portrait of an artist who decided to fight for her dreams.
