DESCRIPTION
The film features the inhabitants of a small Bulgarian town bordering with Turkey, who are faced with the decision whether to accept immigrants. In the wake of the current immigration crisis, the town ended up on the trail of people seeking asylum in Europe. The titular character Ivan sees the influx of new inhabitants as an opportunity to develop his hometown, which had been abandoned by nearly all the young people. Soon, the 38 townspeople entitled to vote will have to make a choice between Ivan, the founder of a communist party, and the current, conservative mayor.
