DESCRIPTION

34-year-old Louis comes back to his family home he left after his father’s death. He wants to tell his long-lost relatives that he is going to die soon. However, the uneasy meeting with his family will make him realize his own internal conflict. Unhealed wounds from his complicated past, outbursts of rancor, and lightning-fast exchanges between the family members will raise an insurmountable communication barrier between them. In this tragicomedy, Dolan develops the subjects he dealt with in his previous films: the toxicity of family relations and the drama of intimate experience. This adaptation of Jean-Luc Lagarce’s play lets as many as five actors shine, ranging about like on a theater stage.
