The story begins in 1977, when Tomek Beksiński moves into his own apartment. As his parents live nearby, in the same neighborhood, their relationship sremain very intense. Tomek’s touchy and disquieting personality makes Zofia, his mother, constantly worry about her son. Meanwhile, Zdzisław Beksiński tries to dedicate himself completely to art. After Tomek’s first failed suicide attempt, Zdzisław and Zofia have to take up the struggle not only for their son, but also to regain control of their lives. When Zdzisław signs a contract with Piotr Dmochowski, an art dealer living in France, and Tomek starts to work in the Polish Radio, it seems that the family has put their worst problems behind. However, a series of strange, perhaps fated events, is yet to come...
