DESCRIPTION
A coming-of-age story in three acts about a black-skinned boy endowed with exceptional sensibility. The first part, called “Little,” presents his childhood spent with his drug-addicted mother. The next ones, “Chiron” and “Black,” show the painful process of growing up in a poor neighborhood and early adulthood years. When presenting the unobvious development of the protagonist’s personality and changes in his appearance, Barry Jenkins easily connected poetic impressionism and expressiveness seething with fierce emotions. His sources of inspiration included his memories of growing up in Miami.
