DESCRIPTION

This film, aimed at adults and children, inspired by The 400 Blows by François Truffaut, was based on an autobiographical novel by Gilles Paris. It is a puppet animation telling a story of nine‑year‑old Icar nicknamed Zucchini. When the boy is sent to an orphanage, he meets children who are much like him: abandoned or hurt by adults. Nothing is black and white here. The little inhabitants’ naivety goes hand in hand with their prematurely gained wisdom, and their family tragedies give rise to real friendships. The authors of the film arouse laughter and tears, yet the child point of view seems to alleviate subjects which tend to be difficult to discuss.
