DESCRIPTION
After graduation from the university, Marian Grzyb returns to Wydmuchów, a village where he grew up. Back there, he faces a reality as if from another era: residents keep waging local battles, are suspicious of any authority and written documents and fall to old superstitions. Being an ambitious man, Grzyb goes on to modernize his native village and turns it into a modern holiday resort, assisted by the local farmers. But, apparently, holidaymakers from the city have different ideas of the provincial countryside they would like to visit… A hilarious adaptation of a novel by Edward Redliński written by the author himself.

Janusz Zaorski (1947) Polish director, screenwriter and actor. Graduate from the Direction Department, Lodz Film School. Author of award-winning feature films recognized at international festivals, including The Mother of Kings, for which he won the Silver Bear at Berlin International Film Festival, and Sons and Comrades, which was awarded the Golden Leopard at Locarno International Film Festival. His specialties are historical period dramas (e.g. Siberian Exile) and comedies (such as Soccer Poker or Hacker).
