DESCRIPTION

Tanna is an island in the South Pacific Ocean, inhabited by one of the last traditional tribes, the autochthonic people of Yakel. Wawa, a young girl, falls in love in Dain, the grandson of the tribal chief. At the same time, a conflict between the tribes of Yakel and Imedin escalates. To restore peace, the elders agree to arrange the marriage of Wawa with the tribal chief of their enemies. The young lovers decide to run away, while the elders face the dilemma: preserve the tradition and culture or adjust to the constantly increasing demands of the community. Tanna is based on a true story. The autochthonic people of the island in title perform in the film.
