DESCRIPTION

K. (Ulrich Mühe) arrives at a small, snowy village to take the position of a land surveyor for the local authorities. However, he finds out that nobody awaits him, and the residents treat him like an intruder. Undaunted, K. tries to get access to the mysterious castle, the residence of his alleged employers. The more effort he makes to clarify his situation, though, the more complicated and unclear it becomes. Haneke masterfully adapted one of the best known works by Kafka, preserving the dream logic characteristic of this author. Bristling with absurd, The Castle is a journey through a labyrinth of a world where everything is more complicated than it seems at a first glance.
